Here's how my nerd boyfriend got me into comics: 7 Webtoon favs of a noob

Now since this was one of those very 'lively' text conversation, I had no clue of the face I got in response to that statement.

Here's the thing about relationships: you practically learn how to participate in activities not of YOUR liking. You accommodate a fellow human's feelings and emotions into your world and poof! now there's two of you to consider at ALL times . Ugh. Surprisingly, you do it out of love ( and not coz mummy made you in-charge while she went grocery shopping)

"Umm , I think I can ...try it ,maybe? You know before I go about having an opinion on it ...cause that's like soo stooopid, right?

NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG . I didn't reaaally think comics and mangas were highway to 'nerdom' (don't tell me I can't invent words). In fact, 8 year old me loved to hear from talking bunnies  if not hardcore marvel ,DC fan. But somewhere along the line in the chaos of adulthood ,I cant deny that I lost my ride to fantasy and supernatural and everything fiction seemed to irk me "Its not even real! C'mon dude, you'd probably never battle a flying eel. Stawp reading nonsense"

Call me a primitive, I do not get weaboos. And frankly , comics reminded me of mangas and everything "AA-NEE-ME". SOMETHING I KNEW I'D NEVER ENJOY despite all the popularity.

He suggested me 'webtoon' and a few good reads. "try em, you'll be thrilled, babe. I promise ", he wrote accompanied with a weird choice of emoticons. I could feel the positive energy radiating from the other side of the screen (if he was a mad scientist , he'll make a cute one)

Tenderfoot, I dived into it. News flash to all those people who relate to me: comics can be all sorts .There's something for everyone : real and fantasy ,drama and romance, horror and sci-fi -you name it. I could resonate well with the genre of 'SLICE OF LIFE' .They are basically short random accounts of humour in day to day struggles and all the weirdness compiled. I mean great for a start for someone like me. Did I get a change of heart towards anime too, you ask? Uhhhhmm...they NOT THAT BAD ....
